Citadel Outlets is a 700,000 square feet of various commercial properties including hotels, four office buildings and outlet center itself. The complex was built more than 75 years ago and is just a 10-minute drive south of downtown Los Angeles and 25 minutes North of Anaheim.

3. Third Street Promenade

A visit to the Third Street Promenade in Santa Monica is more than a shopping experience. You'll stroll down the middle of a street that was closed to vehicular traffic years ago. Now pedestrians rule the road, at least within this three block stretch located within walking distance of the Santa Monica Pier and spectacular views of the Pacific Ocean.

Bordered by the Santa Monica Place shopping mall to the south, and busy Wilshire Boulevard to the north, Third Street is lined with a variety of shops ranging from traditional to unusual. 5. Melrose Avenue

Melrose Avenue is a hodgepodge of all that encompasses L.A. This diverse district manages to be eccentric and mainstream, affordable and upscale, and grungy and glamorous all at once. The one constant about this vibrant, lively block is that its shopping, dining and people-watching are second to none.

Its most well-known section runs from Highland to Fairfax Avenue. West of Fairfax, the street transforms from funky to fancy. North of Melrose Avenue's intersection with La Cienega is Melrose Place, which, of course, is famous in its own right thanks to a certain T.V. show.

6. The Grove

The Grove provides an extensive selection of retail stores and restaurants that will please even the most discerning shoppers.
